Momentum Jump needs no account and uses no analytics services. Ads only come as an optional video that doubles the coins of a round; personalised only with your consent (section 6).
Your progress, coins and settings stay on your device. Only when ghosts are on does the app send data to our ghost server (section 4). The app also checks for updates when it starts (section 5).
Progress, records, coins and what you unlocked with them, missions, the leaderboard, settings, your name and whether you bought “Remove ads” are stored only on your device. We do not receive them. They are gone when you delete the app.
When ghosts are on (default, can be turned off in the settings), our ghost server processes:
• a random ID the app creates on first start. It is not linked to your device, an account or your phone number.
• the name you choose for the ghosts (optional).
• your course per round: time, progress and height or position in the game, every 0.2 seconds. Other players briefly see it as a ghost.
• only if you allow it: your rough area. The app rounds your location on the device to a grid of about 5 km and sends only this rounded value. It is only used to show players near you more often and is never passed on to other players. Your exact location never leaves the device.
• reports: when you report a name, we store your ID, the reported player’s ID and the reported name to check for abuse. From 3 reports by different players on, a name is no longer shown.
Other players only see your name and your course, never your ID or your area.
Retention: live data at most 12 seconds in memory. Stored rounds: the last 300 per game; only rounds from the last 24 hours are shown. Name and reports until you delete them. Your IP address is only used in memory to limit too many requests and discarded at the latest two minutes after your last request. The ghost server keeps no access logs.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (the game feature you use); for the rough area your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you can withdraw in the settings at any time; for reports and request limits our legitimate interest in a safe and respectful game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Deletion: in the settings, “Delete my ghost data” removes your name, rounds, live data and reports from the server immediately.
Server: the ghost server runs at OVH in a data centre in Germany.
When it starts, the app asks Expo (650 Industries, Inc., USA) for program updates. Technically necessary data is transferred: IP address, platform (iOS or Android), app version, the ID of the current update and a random installation ID. This lets us fix bugs without you downloading the app again (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA. Expo’s privacy policy: https://expo.dev/privacy
You can choose to watch an ad video to double the coins of a round. The videos are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).
When ads are loaded and shown, Google processes technical data such as IP address, device and app information, advertising identifiers (the advertising ID on Android, the IDFA on iPhone only with your permission) and information on how you interact with the ad.
Consent: in the EU, the EEA and the UK the app asks you on first start, using Google’s consent dialog, whether personalised ads may be shown (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). On iPhone the system also asks whether the app may track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. Without consent Google only shows non-personalised or limited ads. The game works the same either way.
Changing your choice: in the settings under “Change ad consent” (in the EU) and on iPhone in the system settings under Privacy and Tracking you can change your decision at any time. With “Remove ads” the app no longer loads ads.
Data may be transferred to the USA. Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
The “Remove ads” purchase is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); their terms and privacy policies apply. We do not receive payment data. The app only stores on your device that you bought it and asks the store to restore a purchase (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play; their privacy policies apply. We receive no personal data about you from them.
Approximate location: only if you choose “Yes” in the app and only while you use the app. The tracking request on iPhone and the advertising ID on Android, both only for ads (section 6). Also internet, vibration and purchases through the store. The app does not use the microphone, camera, contacts or photos.
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. Write to info@visionwerk.de. Because we only know a random ID, please tell us your ghost name.
You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate in Mainz.
